friday can’t come soon enough

Friday night we are hosting an event with Gary Vaynerchuk. Needless to say I’m a little on edge. How many people will actually come? Will he like me? I need to distract myself. That’s the best time to roam the shelves. I’ve been going back to this book for days. Every time I look through it I laugh. Below is my favorite picture from the book. Being a bookseller, I think you can figure out way. BTW, did anyone out there catch the pilot episode of V? I would love to hear your thoughts. Especially if you were around when the original came out (like me).

You may not have connections, or an education, or wealth, but with enough passion and sweat, you can make anything happen. »Gary Vaynerchuk

the good, the bad, and the poorly dressed

I had a glimpse into the minds of 7th and 8th graders today, and I must say it was quite revealing. The bookstore I work at is putting together a literary zine for kids in 4th to 12th grade……and I was the lucky person to type them all. From Camping Kitties to young love. I’ve seen it all today. Although I was surprised there was only ONE vampire story.  I was however enlightened to the fact that:

1. Bad guys don’t know how to dress.

2. Bad guys are ugly.

3. Good guys don’t always win.

Maybe “Hollywood” should defer to America’s youth when casting roles. Clearly they are getting it all wrong.
